What a joy to go to the Dentist

I broke a tooth last week, but being new to the area, I do not have Doctor's and Dentist's in place. I asked a few friends and was recommended to a place. Gave them a call and made an appointment. I was glad to get the first appointment of the day. (no waiting) I am really impressed with the office staff. They made you feel like a friend. I had to be numbed because they had to replace the filling. She put the first shot in and my tongue was the only thing that went numb. Which is weird, because I have never had any problems before. So, I guess they have someone in the office that does a real good job, so she comes in and I get another needle punch. I HATE NEEDLES!!! It still only numbed my tongue, which now is really numb. When the dentist came back in, I could tell she was frustrated, but was still very nice. She gave me the option to try one more thing, or come back another day and try again. (NOT) So she put the needle straight into the main nerve. Boy, did that work. It numbed the whole left side of my face. From there it was easy sailing.

When I got home and was telling B, he gently reminded me of some things going on in my life. I will just mention briefly, and expand on later, but I have, for the last year, been seeing doctor's because they think I might have MS. So, of course, this makes sense if I do, because MS in a neurological disorder that damages nerve endings. So, now there is one more thing to list on my already large list of things my body has decided to not do for me.

I did not like going to the dentist before, but now I am going to hate it.

Till next time ...

Ding-Dong

I was taking B to the airport today. While MD and I were coming back home, I needed to get her fed before she went to school. So I asked her where she wanted to go. Sonic or Del Taco. She informed me that she wanted to go to the Ding Dong place. I was like, What? You want to go where they sell Ding Dongs? She of course, said "No. I want to go to the Ding Dong Place." I thought maybe she meant Sonic because you have to push a button. But that was not it either. I guess I must be slow. But after about five minutes of going through everything I could think of that had a Ding Dong. MD looked at me and said, "oh yeah, I want to go to Taco Bell."

It is always amazing to me how kids process things.

My Beginning

I guess that it is time to get with the program. I am an internet junkie and I love to read others blogs. Here is my contribution.

I just finished moving cross country with my family. We started the end of June and moved into my dream home the beginning of August. Since coming here, we have slowly been unpacking boxes. Since I moved from a tiny shoe box, we don't have much for furniture. It will be a while before we will have places for everything to go. Which, by the way, has been in boxes for over 3 years now.

Our move alone was quite an adventure. We were able to spend many weeks with our family while we were waiting for the closing of our home. We started off very rocky with a poorly purchased trailer that we loaded and unloaded 3 times before my wonderful sister in law bought it for landscaping projects. (of which it was intended for.) Then helped us buy another one and reload again. THANKS SIS!!!

We stayed for a few weeks with my sister and her family. We had a blast. It was so much fun catching up with everyone. My two other sisters and their families showed up as well. I am not sure how we all survived living in that house for a week, but I had a fabulous time. While I was there, I hurt my wrist, which we are still figuring out still. We went to my mom and dad's house for a while and helped them put in a bathroom downstairs. And of course, my mom convinced me to go to the doctor. No break! I just had to be careful. From my mom's we sent H back to PA for scout camp, and we went back to Sis's house for a few days. Then our journey continued.

While on our way, it happened to be the hottest day in Kansas. Our trailer weight did not help, but we had what is called "vapor lock" pretty much, it is like running out of gas, but we had gas, it was just vapor and would not supply the engine with gas. It was very scarey. We were in the middle of nowhere. We decided to unhitch the trailer and see if we could get the car started. It did, so I stayed back with the trailer and B took the kids and dogs to go find a gas station. 2 miles down the road, our car stalled again. ARGH!!!! That is where the prayers came in. B and the kids got out with the dogs and started walking in 105 degrees hoping that it was not far to a gas station. Then our angel came. He was just getting off work from the gas station the opposite direction and pulled over to help my family. He loaded everyone in his car and took them to a co-op. Luckily the manager was still doing the books, because it was closed. He loaned us his gas can, and gave us a few water bottles. They came and picked me up and off we went to pick up the van. B took the van to the co-op to fill it all the way. The gentleman stayed at the off-ramp to make sure we got off okay. We still had to go pick up the trailer a few miles back. But after an hour we were on the road again. I am not sure what we would have done if this kind man had not helped us out, because while we were driving, the closest open gas station was 9 miles away from where we were. It would not have been a good think. THANK YOU to our angel.

We finally made it to our destination and we are having such a great time painting, doing landscaping and just enjoying the space. I still am having issues with my wrist, but hopefully after and MRI next week, they can tell us more about what is going on with that.

Now that we are here, we are finding new friends and starting to put some roots down. I am so hoping this will be our last move for a long while as this has been our 5th in 16 years. H is in 8th grade now, so we want him to have a place to call home. But as we are enjoying the new, we are missing the old. We realize what special friends we have and how much we miss them. We hold all of you close to our hearts and hope that we will continue to flourish as friends. Even with all the miles between us. I am hoping this is a way to keep you in our lives.

I am keeping this site public as to find new and old friends, but hope you all understand that I would like my childrens names to be annonymous. I will refer to them as H, W, M, and MD. For those of you who know us, you will know who they are. I will figure out how to post pictures of them so that you can see them on a more private site.

I hope that as time goes by, you will laugh, dream, cry and play with me with this blog.

Till the next time...
